Which Extension Method Is Right for You?
Weft Extensions
Wefts are rows of hair sewn or beaded onto a small, secure foundation along your natural hair. They add serious volume and length with no heat or glue, and the hair can be reused at each move-up. Wefts are a great fit if you want a big, full transformation and can come in for regular maintenance.
The Extra. Extensions: more rows for maximum volume and a dramatic length change.
The Signature Extensions: fewer rows for natural-looking fullness that blends seamlessly.
Maintenance: move-up every 6-8 weeks.
Keratin Bond Extensions
Keratin bonds (also called K-tips) attach small strands of hair to your own with a tiny keratin bond. Because they're placed strand by strand, they move freely and are great for fine hair, ponytails, and updos. Bonds are ideal if you want a natural feel and fewer appointments between installs.
Maintenance: worn about 3-4 months, then removed and reapplied.

How It Works: Application to Install Day
Your Extension Journey
1. Apply online. Fill out the extension application so I can learn your hair history and goals before we meet.
2. Consultation. We meet at Art of Impact Salon and Spa to talk through your goals, assess your natural hair, color-match, and choose your method. You'll get a full breakdown of the investment for your install and maintenance.
3. Hair ordered. Once you book, I order hair custom to your shade and length.
4. Install day. Every install starts with a prep blowout. Then I apply your extensions, cut and blend them into your natural hair, and style you. Plan on about 2-3 hours for wefts and 3-5 hours for keratin bonds.
5. Home care + maintenance. You leave with a care routine and your next maintenance appointment on the books.
Caring for Your Extensions
Use sulfate-free, extension-safe shampoo and conditioner, and keep conditioner off the attachment points.
Brush daily with a loop or extension brush, holding the hair at the root.
Always use heat protectant and keep hot tools away from bonds and wefts.
Never sleep with wet hair. Dry fully, then braid loosely or use a silk pillowcase.
Rinse after pools or the ocean, and avoid oils near bonds.
Keep your maintenance appointments. It's the key to healthy natural hair under your extensions.

Will extensions damage my natural hair?
When they're applied correctly and maintained on schedule, extensions shouldn't damage your hair. That's why I assess your hair health at consultation and never skip maintenance.
Which is better, wefts or keratin bonds?
Neither is better, they're different. Wefts give the most volume; bonds give the most natural movement and versatility. We'll choose together at your consultation.
How long does the appointment take?

Can I swim or work out with extensions?
Yes. Rinse after swimming, dry the attachment area fully after workouts, and tie your hair up in chlorine or salt water.
Will people be able to tell I'm wearing extensions?
The goal is no. Custom color matching and cutting them into your natural hair is what makes them blend.
How do I prepare for install day?
Just come as you are! Every install starts with a prep blowout here in the salon, so your hair is clean, smooth, and ready for application.
